In Hometown, John Bullard recounts his commitment to New Bedford, his work in public service, and his dedication to family, community, and environmental issues. He weaves a tale of a family legacy intertwined with the complexities and promise of New Bedford, a storied Massachusetts seaport whose revitalization provides lessons for other cities struggling to survive and thrive.
Bullard’s story—and his sense of hometown—whether acting as a local or federal leader, may have changed the range of his actions, but never the importance of the people he worked with and for.
Joh Bullard is a native of New Bedford, Massachusetts. His ancestry includes many of the city’s first families. John and his wife, Laurie, now live in nearby Westport and have three children and five grandchildren. Hometown is his first book.
